Interesting 7days program can create as an extension from Bagan as a kind of architecture tour comparing two different architectures between famous capitals of 10 – 13 Century A.D (Bagan) and 14-18 Century A.D (Mrauk U). Drive all the way to Mrauk U through the old road of Burma from Bagan to Magwe and to the West of Magwe passing over several mountains ranges of Rakhine. Scenic through the way is beautiful , driving over the mountains is adventurous and architecture of temples are interesting to learn.

Day 1: Yangon – Bagan
Yangon

You will be picked up from your hotel and transfer to airport by car and driver only. Morning flight from Yangon to Bagan. Sightseeing in Bagan: Nyaung Oo Market; a village market where you can find from wet market of fish and meat to house hold things like rattan baskets, cotton wear and antiques. Visit the golden Shwezigon Pagoda; prototype golden stupa, Gubyaukgyi Temple; small temple good for panoramic view and famous for it’s frescoe paintings of 12th century. Check in at hotel & rest. Afternoon visit, Ananda Temple; the most beautiful temple with 4 standing Buddhas in four cardinal points, history or lord Buddha and outside of the temple is decorated withTerra-Cotta worriers in green glaze plaques. Visit Lacquerware home industry and stroll around the viallage of Myinkaba, visit Manuha Temple; the temple of captive king of Tha-ton, Dhammayangyi Pahto and Pyattadagyi Temple or one of the pagoda for panoramic view of the city. Overnight at hotel in Bagan.

Day 2: Bagan – Magwe (B)
Yangon

Morning free to explore the temple field of Bagan on your own. Suggestions : you can explore with bicycle or e-bike or horse cart. After lunch, Bagan / Magwe by private car/coach about 3:30 hrs. Arrive Magwe and check in. Evening visit around small town of Magwe and sunset from Mya Thalun pagoda constructed on the river bank. Overnight at hotel in Magwe.

Day 3: Magwe – Myauk U (B)
Yangon

Today you will venture overland route from the central plain to Mrauk U in the west. The route will take about 8 hrs passing by multiple rows of Rakhin mountains ranges &forests. Look for the narrow road “The Ann Pass” used by the British army defeated by Japanese during World War ll. Stop at “Ann” the military stationed town for passport checking. Continue to Mrauk-U driving through dense forest, bridges over several rivers & creeks.
Rakhine:- was established long before but the period is seen as the classical period of Rakhine culture, architecture and Buddhism, as the Kingdom of Vesali ( 4th Century A.D) left behind more archeological remains compared to its predecessor. Rakhine people as the golden age of their history, as Mrauk U served as a commercially important port and base of power in the Bay of Bengal region and involved in extensive maritime trade with Arabia and Europe. Overnight at hotel in Mrauk U.

Day 4: Mrauk (B)
Yangon

Visit Mrauk – U starts with a drive to Immense Ko Thaung cave temple of 16th century ( resemble to Borobudur of Java ). Pisi ruined temple with 5 monlith images of Lay myo dynasty prior to Mrauk-U dynasty. Satkya-man-aung Stupa, Solid masonry representing lotus flower donated by King Thir-thu Dama Raja and his queen Nat-Chun May and old palace foundation site (South of Mrauk-U). Walk through to “Wah Thee” or “ Alay Zee” village where there are primitive traditional method of alcohol distillery, hats, mats, baskets,fans ( traditional Salu Fan ) making home industries. All are made of natural raw materials like bamboo, thatch & Salu. Stop at Luck Kauk See ( Bandoola) monastery where you can study Buddhist art collections from Vesali Dynasty ( 4th -9th century AD) & Sanda Muni image ( maha kyan) & Let Se Kan Gate. Afternoon visit to Shit Thaung cave temple of 1553,( unlike from Pagan architecture) it is with spiral shaped tunnel decorated with stone carving relief of daily life & mystical animals. Andaw Thein cave temple with fine stone carvings ( supposed to be enshrined the relic molar of Lord Buddha). In the evening, visit to a massive fortress like temple of Htuk Kan Thein ( the ordination hall) of Mrauk-U period. Overnight at hotel in Mrauk U.

Day 5: Visit Tattoo Chin Village by boat and walk (whole day tour )( Breakfast/Lunch)
Yangon

Chin people are hill tribe and consist of different clans. Chin women have a peculiar custom of having tattooed in their faces. Each clan has special tattoo pattern. By the pattern design in the face, one can know which clan she belongs to. Now a day, younger generation stop practicing this custom. Ho or Cho clan chin villages are in Mrauk Oo township. After breakfast at hotel, depart fro Nann Kya village and jetty by car ( about 30 minutes). Take a boat along the river to upper reaches of Laymro River that runs winding among the mountain ranges, fantastic scenery to Kone Chaung Village ( about 3 hrs). Visit around the village to see wonderful chin Ladies with tattooed faces with very different exciting tattooed pattern and their very simple ways of life. Visit Kung Chaung, Sin Ke Chin villages all are located at the bank of Lay Mro River. Return back by boat along down river, if time permits stop on the way and walk through the fruit gardens, Mangoes, Lychees, Lemons, Citrus, Pamelo and vegetable farms. (Suggest todiscuss with guide in advance for lunch box, water and other necessary things to bring along).

Day 6: Mrauk U – Sittwe by private charter boat (B)
Yangon

Morning drive to town to see way of life of people by strolling around colorful Mrauk-U market Mrauk U/ Sittwe by boat ( 5 to 8 hrs) according to nature of tide. Arrive Sittwe and transfer to the hotel. . Evening visit some colonial buildings such as Mahakuthala Kyaung. Then walk along the Strand Road. Overnight at hotel I Sittwe.

Day 7: Sittwe – Yangon by flight (B)

Enjoy your Breakfast at the hotel. Morning free at leisure. Transfer to airport. Sittwe/ Yangon by afternoon flight and end of our services when you reach to Yangon airport.

BOOKING CONDITION & PAYMENT TERMS

  • Booking Cut- off date 1 month (31 days) before departure. Once the booking is confirmed, need to make 50% of the payment to secure the  booking and balance to be made before 31 days ahead.
  • We will need passenger passport copies to issue domestic flight tickets once the booking is confirmed to avoid any spelling mistake.
  • Domestic airfares are subject to change without prior notice. Will inform and collect if the airlines announce Fuel Surcharge, Airport tax, etc. etc.
  • Kindly check with us if your travel date meets with X’mas Eve or New Year’s Eve, there will be surcharge for compulsory Dinners at the hotels.
  • If your travel date meets with Paung Daw Oo pagoda festival days ( 10 October to 27 October 2018), there will be small surcharge in the transportation for boat fare.
